Alicia Keys is gearing up to release her first album since 2009 in a few months, and so she has released this new song, 'New Day', as a way to test the waters. It's a much different sound than we're used to hearing from the 'Empire State of Mind' singer, but it's refreshing. The beat is sick with a big drum line going on, and it sounds more mainstream than most of her usual music. The last thirty seconds of the song are great, but also very left-field for Alicia. Interesting... I can definitely see this as being a successful single if she chooses to release it. I'll be very interested to hear her new album in a few months, and hopefully we'll get some more great music like this track.
