At one of the stops on her Born This Way Ball Tour last night, Lady GaGa debuted a new ballad that she says may or may not be on her next album. The track is called 'Princess Die' and is a dark, and dreary ballad. It's something you would expect to hear from Evanescence, not GaGa, but nevertheless the song is hauntingly beautiful and I would love her to take this sort of direction for her next album. Let's face it: GaGa's plateaued in terms of her music, and so I think taking a more conventional route with heavy material like this may be a good path to travel. It's obvious that the song is about Princess Diana, and it seems as if GaGa is drawing parallels between herself and the late Princess Di. I'm sure there's also undertones of GaGa's own dark past which she has never really let fans in on before. It's a great song and I can only hope that GaGa will move in a new direction for her fourth album.
