Over the last few days, Coldplay has been teasing fans with clips from a new video. In a move that shocked everyone today, they dropped a music video for their new song 'Midnight'. Following up their most recent release 'Mylo Xyloto' which spawned the hits 'Paradise' and 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall', the new track is a huge departure in sound. 'Midnight' is going more the route of Bon Iver than anything else, and I quite like it. It's not a huge anthemic arena tune like the boys are known for, but it's relaxing and sonically beautiful. Chris Martin's vocals are giving me Björk-realness here with the atmospheric wails and coos. There's no word yet on whether a new album is coming, but I'll take what I can get when it comes to Coldplay.
