'It Was Always You' sees Maroon 5 go in a completely different direction than they have ever gone before. Taking cues from the indie pop scene at the moment, the new track sees Adam Levine singing over a soaring synth-driven pop track. It's got simple drum beats and electronica backing it up, but the synths take it to a Phil Collins level.
The Monsters and The Strangerz-produced track allows Adam Levine to expand his vocal range, and dig into something deeper. Adam's vocals are absolutely divine here with a sense of urgency and passion. If V is more of this sound I will be incredibly happy.
Maroon 5's fifth studio album V is set to be released on September 2nd.
