This volume seems like a lot less of an auto tune mess than last year's, and the album also involves more of the Pit Crew (the hunky Miles Davis Moody in particular). But most importantly, the compilation features a new Ru and Michelle duet.
The new song is 'New York City Beat' originally released by the Fabulous Pop Tarts in the '80s. It was originally a house track, but Ru gave it a facelift with a few nips and tucks and turned it into a disco funk stomper. The track features Michelle and Ru trading off licks for an insanely catchy tune. To be honest, these two should just release an entire duet album together.
In the video for the song, clips of vintage RuPaul turning the streets of New York City into his runway are merged with some of Michelle's earliest runway walks on the set of Drag Race. The duo pull out their fiercest personas and show everyone how to give face. What kind of literal perfection is this?
