'Towards the Sun' by Rihanna

Before we knew anything about #R8, and before 'FourFiveSeconds' was ever a blip on the radar, it was announced that not only would Rihanna be voicing the lead character in the new DreamWorks film Home but she would also be releasing a concept album for the film.

Yesterday, the first song from the album was premiered on BBC Radio 1. And ironically it's leagues better than the Paul McCartney-assisted track. 'Towards the Sun' is a massive empowerment anthem that is essentially the sister of her Coldplay collab, 'Princess of China'. Marching drums and a tribal flair accompany Rih Rih on what is without a doubt the best song she's released in a while.

It's interesting that Rihanna's giving us the good stuff for a soundtrack. I love this more "all about the music" approach she's got going this era, but I'm going to need her to deliver on #R8 because 'FourFiveSeconds', while amazing, is just not going to cut it.
