'American Girl' by Bonnie McKee

Most of you probably have no idea who Bonnie McKee is, but I've loved her for years as she has been a tour-de-force in the music industry. She has a huge catalogue of songs she's written that will make you gawk at. Some of her notable hits are Britney Spears's 'Ooh La La' and 'Hold It Against Me', Katy Perry's 'Wide Awake', 'Part of Me' and other massive singles, Ke$ha's 'C'mon', a couple for Adam Lambert and many many more. She's a talented songwriter, and she has finally just released her very own single. 'American Girl' is a song that would be a bonafide hit sung by any of music's leading ladies today, but Bonnie saves it for herself, and teams up with a host of celebrities for the music video. The song is a natural summer anthem befitting the American dream and everything that makes us Americans, including "growing up in front of the television" which I can most definitely relate to. Bonnie doesn't have the greatest voice, but her songwriting alone could make this track a summer smash.
