Coldplay are getting the honor of having one of their songs featured in the upcoming film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and the song was just released today. Upon listening, I think most people will be shocked. With 'Atlas', Coldplay have gone back to their roots and created a beautiful, melodic track that really is all about the piano and Chris Martin's voice. It's nothing like Mylo Xyloto which was very electronic and had that very unique sound to it. 'Atlas' is simple but extraordinarily beautiful, and it seems like it's marking a shift in the band's sound. If they're going this route again, I will be beyond ecstatic. And in terms of the film, this song could not fit more perfectly - it gave me chills. We all know Catching Fire is going to be huge, but with Coldplay on board it only heightens my expectations.
