As part of the promo for her upcoming third studio album Prism, Katy Perry is releasing a few songs off the album early. The first track to be released is 'Dark Horse' and I am really feeling this one. It's really Katy's first foray into the hip-hop genre, and while it might not be her home base, I think it works well. It has a great beat and has a beautiful chorus. It might be a bit cheap coming from Katy which I totally understand, but for her first experimentation in the genre I think it works well. The rap from Juicy J is a nice break in the song. Also, there is an awesome trap breakdown which I live for. While it's not going to be a single, I think 'Dark Horse' has done its job because it's giving me hope for the album which 'Roar' took away.
