'Work Bitch' by Britney Spears

Days like these are the ones that I live for. Every time a new track from the legendary Miss Britney Spears drops, the day is nicknamed Britmas, and today is another one of those days. 'Work Bitch' is the first single off Britney's upcoming eighth album, set to be released later this year. It is her first true single since 2011's 'Criminal' off the Femme Fatale album. Since then she was featured on will.i.am's massive single 'Scream and Shout', and she contributed 'Ooh La La' to The Smurfs 2 soundtrack. Britney is also set to begin a historic residency at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas starting at the top of the new year where she will perform every other weekend for the next two years. The residency is expected to be unveiled Tuesday morning on Good Morning America in a "mega live event" broadcast straight from the middle of the desert where Britney is expected to perform 'Work Bitch' and possibly another song. You can see the Vegas cross-promotion in the single artwork for 'Work Bitch' above. With all that out of the way, should we finally get to the moment we've all been waiting for?!
The new single has been described as a "game changer," and features Britney as a co-writer with will.i.am as the producer of the song (Will is also the executive producer of the album). 'Work Bitch' is an incredibly different song than I think any of us were expecting. The beat isn't straight-up EDM, but it's got some urban flares that give it a really unique sound. The awesome thing about this song is Britney's voice. We have the return of Britishney that 'Scream and Shout' originally gave us, and it's hot as ever. But I think the best part is that there's no auto-tune (which the vocal producer of the song has confirmed), and Brit does some really cool things with her voice. I hate when people say Britney doesn't have a good voice because that's simply not true. Yes, her voice isn't powerful like Adele's, but she is insanely talented at altering her voice. Let's not forget that her signature "Britney voice" isn't actually her real voice; it's all an act. Okay now onto the best part of the song: THE BRIDGE. It's orgasmic, incredible, euphoric, and completely killed me and brought me back to life. "Go call the police! Go call the guv-uh-nah!" because Britney is about to slay all your fave's careers. The world premiere of 'Work Bitch' has been moved up to today at 3pm, and then the song will be released to iTunes at midnight tonight.
