RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7: Born Naked

It's baaaack! Let's face it: RuPaul's Drag Race is the best show on television. It's the best time of the year as 14 flawless new drag queens compete for the title of America's Next Drag Superstar. RuPaul has promised us this is going to be the most draggity season ever and he wasn't kidding. Not only did the show get shaken up with Carson Kressley and Ross Mathews replacing Santino Rice as permanent judges on the show, but Untucked has moved its home to online where it's now uncensored and raw. With the most diverse cast the show has ever seen, Season 7 promises to be sickening.
Walking into the Werk Room, the bitches make a statement. Miss Fame comes in looking a space creature, Jaidynn Diore Fierce twirls in like a bag of candy, and Pearl makes a statement. Trixie's "C'mon, chinstrap!" became an instant meme, and the reaction to her telling the girls she's a hair stylist and make-up artist is priceless. But it's Tempest DuJour's campy arrival that makes us gag.

It's only minutes into the premiere and shade is already being thrown like it's going out of style. Ru enters the Werk Room to glowing faces and changes everything. There's no more photoshoot. Rather, the queens must model a Spring and a Fall look on the runway for their mini-challenge. The queens turn it out, and it's awesome because we get a much better look at what they have to offer than we normally do. Pearl kills it in her Spring fur look, and Miss Fame slays the runway with her signature model looks. Trixie camps it up, but Violet Chachki's two-in-one tartan jumpsuit left me gagging.
For the main challenge, the girls must face their fears and come out Naked and Afraid. They must present a resort-wear look that tears away to a nude illusion. Can these girls pull it off?
The first look down the runway is from everyone's favorite Russian, Katya. Giving me some Courtney Act inspired 'To Russia With Love' lewks, Katya is fringed for the gods. Next, Ms. Kasha Davis gives us buxom beauty with her hair coiffed. Then Sasha Belle comes out in an Ariel wig, but she seems to have missed the point of the challenge walking out in a nude leotard. Miss Fame is up next, and I'm a little shocked. I know she's tattooed up but I would have loved to see her actually come out nude. Her cinched waist in the body suit looks a bit odd, but that hair and face is beat for the gods.
Kennedy Davenport takes a page out of the Kenya Moore handbook and twirls her way into our hearts. I wasn't a fan from the promos, but she really won me over this week. Then Tempest comes out in a poorly fitted body suit which is a shame. I don't think the long blonde hair complemented her skin tone, although I did love the crab belt. Then out comes Trixie serving us Barbie-plays-tennis. The execution of the Barbie padding could have been better, but she still turned it.

At last Pearl serves us her Ambien-feuled runway walk and I am living. She's so awkward on the runway, but her "Bitch, I'm from New York" attitude is perfect and that hair and make-up is perfection. That's a hard act to follow, but Max made my draw drop as she made her way down the runway on crutches suffering from polio. This is the exact reason why I love drag: always pushing boundaries. Ginger Minj steps out giving us coppertone body-ody-ody.
Jasmine makes an unforgettable entrance with her poorly conceived and executed cocoon metamorphosis moment, although I do love her nude illusion. I'm a sucker for fringe. Then out comes Kandy Ho, contoured beard and all. If it weren't for that contour she would have looked ten times better. Jaidynn follows giving us a bit of Britney moment with her diamonds, and closing the show is Violet who gives us an actual nude look, however she is serving too much boy.
I think Miss Fame should have won this one because I just don't think Violet's nude look was very good, but I do agree that Violet's Spring and Fall looks were the best. Tempest and Kandy unsurprisingly land in the Bottom Two. They battle it out to RuPaul's Born Naked single 'Geronimo' and Kandy turns the party. She performed the hell out of the song so it's no wonder Tempest was told to sashay away.

It was really hard to guess who would be going home first from this bunch, but I never thought it would be Tempest. I believe she had far more to offer than Kandy or Violet ever will and it's a shame we'll never get to see. You can watch Untucked below, and make sure to watch 'Glamazonian Airways' which airs Monday at 9pm on Logo.
