Alaska blew me away when she released her first post-Drag Race single last week, a catchy tune that encapsulates everything the show is about and represents. And of course it wouldn't be complete without some shade being thrown. The new video for 'Ru Girl' is her best video to date, and also the most creative. Directed by Carly Usdin, Alaska is first seen waking up in a bathtub with smeared make-up and surrounded by beer bottles basically depicting her every day life. We then see scenes of her singing in a hallway in the most cliché way possible. Then, Alaska reminds us of her past in the shot above because she's never going to let us forget that she crash landed here from the planet Glamtron. I think she looks absolutely stunning. Everything is literally perfect. The fun comes when she starts listing every queen that has ever participated in Drag Race because (as seen below) she goes Brady Bunch style and dresses up as the various girls. It gets even more fun when Manila, Jessica Wild and Pandora Boxx show up and drag it out as some of the more popular girls like Detox. The video finally ends with popular queen Rhea Litré (who was a shoe-in for Season 6) getting beat up by Alaska before claiming she'll be on Season 7. Alaska pulled out all the stops for this video, and now all I need for her to do is release an album.
