'Nunca Me Acuerdo de Olvidarte' by Shakira

Shakira just released the new single featuring Rihanna off her upcoming English language studio album, but she's not stopping there. The Latin pop star is keeping things rolling by releasing the Spanish version of her hit single. She's done this in the past for songs like 'She Wolf', and it's always fun to hear the song sung in her native language. Usually they're not any better than the original, but with this one I think the Spanish is far superior. 'Can't Remember To Forget You' has a great reggae-ska feel to it, but that style blends better with the vocals in 'Nunca Me Acuerdo de Olvidarte'. The reworked track feels more natural and even more Laundry Service-esque Shakira than we've heard in many years. Her warbling vocals in Spanish amplify the track and actually make me wonder whether this song was originally written in Spanish and then translated. Honestly, I'm not missing Rihanna here. It'll be interesting to hear what Shakira's self-titled album has in store for us.
