'Here I Am' by Kelly Rowland Album Review

Kelly Rowland has alway been a very underrated artist in my eyes.  She was always just "another member" of Destiny's Child that was constantly overshadowed by Beyoncé.  Kelly makes some great music, even though she never achieves commercial success with her stuff.  Her previous two albums were never cohesive enough for me, and they only ever contained two or three hit songs.  She is definitely an R&B artist at heart, but I think she has finally realized that that path is not her most successful.  After her foray into the dance scene with David Guetta she has realized that she is much more successful at dance music.  The lead single from the album, 'Commander', was released over a year ago and did pretty well on the charts.  With the release of 'Here I Am' Kelly offers up a nice selection of music.  It contains some great dance tracks such as 'Down for Whatever' and 'Each Other', but she also sticks to her roots and offers some great R&B jams, such as her most successful single to date 'Motivation', 'Lay It On Me' and 'All of the Night'.  Supposedly in a few months (most likely in September to coincide with her new job as a judge on the UK X Factor) she will be releasing a dance version of the album that will contain new tracks which will cater more to her European audience.  I am anxiously awaiting the alternate version because I believe that dance music is where Kelly excels, but at the same time this album is by far her most cohesive and best album to date.  Definitely check it out.
