'Lay Me Down' by Avicii featuring Nile Rodgers and Adam Lambert
Avicii is going to be the next big thing on radio in the coming months as his first single 'Wake Me Up' is blowing up, and his debut album True is shaping up to be huge. One of the most teased tracks off the album is the collaboration with legendary guitarist Nile Rodgers and pop superstar Adam Lambert. Last night at a charity concert, Avicii spun the anticipated track in full, and after hearing it I know it'll be a huge hit. It's a fantastic dance track, probably one of the best Adam has ever released, and Nile Rodgers on guitar brings in a great Motown funk sound to the record. You can't not dance along to this one. About four minutes in, Adam starts some vocal acrobatics over the groovy guitar riff and it's pure bliss. With Adam appearing as Kurt's rival and friend of Demi Lovato's character on the upcoming fifth season of Glee, Adam is shaping up for a huge few months.
Thanks for this interesting write-up - agree about LMD - great song, crazy good vocals, and fab guitar - what's not to like. Hope it blows up huge - certainly deserves it.
ReplyDeleteI hope it does too! Adam sure could use a big radio hit again.
DeleteLast night's show was fabulous. Nile is an incredible musician and human being, Adam Lambert is the consummate entertainer and an all round good person, and although I don't really understand the concept of a d j being a star, good for him because Aviici seems like a great young guy who can get people on their feet and dancing...... and the fact that he chose to collaborate with Nile and Adam shows he's smart, too.
ReplyDeleteWere you there?
DeleteI agree with you about Avicii being smart. If a DJ wants to make it, they need the right collaborations, and bringing these two together will reach a lot of fans.
