'Woman's World' Music Video by Cher

Cher's first single in twelve years has been out for almost nine months now despite, despite it having an official release back in June. After nine months I can honestly say the track still sounds fresh and new, and I regularly jam out to it. Today, Cher finally released the music video for the first single off her album Closer To the Truth, due out September 27th (a mere 10 days after Britney Spears is set to release her brand new single!). The video for 'Woman's World' is pretty simplistic, but it gets across the message: "This is a woman's world!" Cher can be seen singing to the camera in three very distinct outfits while she is flanked by a group of woman who bust out some awesome choreography. Interspersed with that are some of Cher's fans who are women of all ages, sizes, and races. I love that Cher shows that every woman, no matter what her appearance, is just as important as the other. And of course no Cher video would be complete without some crazy outfits and wigs. My favorite is the wig that is made completely out of newspaper: iconic is you ask me. She also has this huge bushy red piece that is an awkward proportion, and then a beautiful white headpiece with black flecks which is reminiscent of wigs she has worn in the past. When you're the Goddess of Pop and 67 years old, you really don't have to do anything other than stand there and look fierce. Cher is ready to dominate the world once again this fall, even appearing as Blake Shelton's mentor on The Voice, and this boy could not be happier.

  1. I agree with your sentiments exactly. And love her unbiased view of people. I'm hoping this song makes it to the Top 100. Can't wait to get the album in September. Welcome back, Cher!
