'Ghost Town' by Adam Lambert

Robbed American Idol runner-up, Glambert, and Queen frontman Adam Lambert is making his epic musical return. It's been a few years since his pop/R&B album Trespassing was released, and after undergoing a makeover that included sculpting his body and becoming "dad af" Adam is ready to unleash his new brand of pop on the world.

It may share the same name as Madonna's new single, but these are nothing alike. Working with Max Martin and Shellback, 'Ghost Town' is a chilly foray into the darker side of pop. Here his lyricism is on point, giving us some beautiful melancholic phrases like "Tonight, Elvis is dead and everyone's spread / And love is a satire."

But it's Adam's voice atop the beat that lend this production its magic. 'Ghost Town' effortlessly blends an acoustic sing-along with a dark club beat pulsing underneath Adam's sultry and, for the first time, restrained vocals. This is what heaven would sound like.

However, the bridge comes and Adam decides to let this ghost town have it. "There's no one left in the world / I'm gunslingin / Don’t give a damn if I go down, down," he wails, piercing through the hypnotic spell he has put us under. This is a slice of perfection, and it just goes to show that Adam is one of the few true male pop stars we have.

Adam Lambert's third studio album The Original High will be released on June 15th.
