'Addicted to a Memory' by Zedd featuring Bahari
Zedd has been everywhere these days, delivering some of the best pop tracks. The Selena Gomez-assisted lead single 'I Want You to Know' has been a massive hit, and the German DJ is now giving us a second taste of his upcoming album True Colors.
'Addicted to a Memory' features the trio Bahari on the hook as they sweetly coo "We are, we are, imagine ecstasy / Holding on to what we used to be, addicted to a memory." Zedd's production here is flawless. Melding his old gritty electro sound with current radio tastes is a slice of perfection.
But it's the breakdown that's the real star here. It's like we've journeyed into the world of Super Mario as a rampage of video game beats blast off before eventually meeting a harpsichord that wouldn't be out of place in a Beethoven piece. It's bizarre in all the right ways.
Zedd's sophomore album True Colors will be released on May 18th.
