'Hallelujah' by Panic! At the Disco
Any day there's new Panic! At the Disco music is a good day. The band has gone through a lot of turmoil, losing the exclamation point for a while and members leaving, and earlier this month Spencer Smith announced he too was leaving. Brendan Urie is now the only original member left, but that's not stopping him from creating more music.
Yesterday Panic! dropped the first taste of their upcoming fifth studio album due out later this year. 'Hallelujah' is the group's Hozier-fueled gospel-rock jam. They take us to church as the choir elevates the song to celestial heights.
"Show praise with your body / Stand up, sing hallelujah / And if you can't stop shaking, lean back / Let it move right through ya / Say your prayers," proclaims the holy Messiah Urie. It's a turn in sound for them but it's oh so heavenly.
