The X Factor USA: Top 11

This week was Movie Week on The X Factor and the contestants all brought their Hollywood swag.  The cast got to go see the premiere of Adam Sandler's 'Jack & Jill' earlier in the week and they got their first taste of celebrity life.  For the most part the acts did pretty well, but like any week there were some D-list performances.

Stacy Francis
We get to see Stacy singing an uptempo for once, but she was just okay.  It was great seeing her dance and really give a performance, but I felt like she totally over sung the song.  She is definitely a ballad singer, but at least we got to see her do something out of her comfort zone.  She could be in danger of elimination.

Marcus Canty
After last week's abysmal performance anything could be better.  Even though it was better than last week it was still disappointing.  I really felt like he overdid the entire performance.  The "emotion" that he was putting into the song felt very contrived.  I would say that I think he is in danger of going home, but the judges really seemed to praise him so he'll probably be safe.

Drew
Drew was amazing this week!  Her rendition of 'Fix You' was great, and contrary to Paula, I thought her dress was very current and something unexpected to see from her.  There is no doubt in my mind that she is going to make it to the finals.

Lakoda Rayne
This was absolutely perfect!  They did a pop / country song and it was the exact kind of record that I think they would make in the future.  The girls are really coming into their own, and I think they will have a chance.  It'll be interesting to see how the groups favor on the show since America has never really been exposed to this kind of thing before.

Astro
Performance of the night.  Astro blows me away every week, and taking on an Eminem song just propelled him into superstardom.  I really think he's going to do well in this show, and he has a great future ahead of him.  He writes amazing lyrics, and is a model to the younger generation.

Melanie Amaro
Melanie gave her best performance to date.  Michael Jackson is always a risky choice, but her rendition was spot on.  It was a wonderful tribute to the King of Pop, and she pulled off a flawless performance.

The Stereo Hoggz
They completely butchered Christina's song.  Their worst performance so far; can't understand how the judges were raving over it.  And L.A. has never heard 'Ain't No Other Man'?  He's a music mogul and hasn't heard one of Christina Aguilera's most famous songs?!  Anyway, the Stereo Hoggz blew it and I think they'll be packing their bags this week.

Rachel Crow
Rachel was my second favorite of the night.  Finally Simon let her belt it out!  This is what I have been waiting for the last few weeks.  This girl can SANG, and she blew the roof of the place last night.  This girl has it all, and I can't wait to see where her future takes her.

The acts did a decent job this week.  Definitely not hard to predict who will be going home, though: Stereo Hoggz.  Either Marcus or Stacy will probably be joining them in the Bottom Two.  The show is definitely getting better, but it doesn't hold a candle to the UK version.  Let's see how the Results Show goes this week and see if it's an improvement over last week's snooze fest.  Luckily we have Jessie J and Willow Smith to look forward to so it should be good!
