New Spring 2012 TV Shows

Another round of TV shows have begun!  Just like with my previous posts I'll be keeping you up to date with the new shows debuting this Spring that I'm watching!  There's some really good ones so I suggest you check them out.

Touch
Arguably one of the best new TV shows in a long time, Kiefer Sutherland's Touch is unlike any show I've seen before.  Never has a show captivated me from the opening scene and kept its grasp on me to this very day.  The show is not only this huge mind game that keeps you guessing throughout every episode, but the characters grab your heart strings and make you feel something.  The show centers on Sutherland's son who has never spoken a word in his life, and he sees the world through numbers and patterns.  This is his only way of communicating, and Sutherland finds out that his son is always trying to get him to help someone through these patterns.  It's an extremely intriguing show that is truly unique.  This is a must watch show this spring.

Scandal
Again, this is arguably one of the best new TV shows to hit the small screen.  Scandal, created by Shonda Rhimes, is a crime drama of sorts that focuses on an agency that solves people's problems and makes them go away.  An agency like this actually exists so it's interesting to ponder what kind of things have happened that we as citizens are oblivious to.  Olivia Pope is a great character with a unique mind.  She may be one of my favorite characters on television ever, and this is after watching just two episodes.  This is a must watch show.

Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23
ABC's newest sitcom plays off the crazy roommate story in pop culture with a small town girl moving to NYC and rooming with a "crazy" New Yorker.  This crazy roommate basically lures in unsuspecting women, gets their money, and then scares them off.  But this time when she seduces the new girl's husband on her birthday it becomes the best thing that ever happened to her.  The Bitch is caught off guard, but the girls become good friends.  The premiere was pretty good, but it's not necessarily the most well-written show out there so we'll see what happens.

Girls
Girls is a new comedy on HBO that is being branded an edgier, more real-life version of Sex and the City.  The show is basically about four girls in their 20's who are trying to live and work in New York City.  It is definitely not a show for the youngsters as it tackles real-life problems such as body image issues, sexual relationships, drugs, abortion, etc. all in great detail.  Lena Dunham writes, directs and stars in this show which I think may be the most solid pilot episode I have seen in years.  I simply cannot fault the show for anything right now.  Everything feels real and it'll be interesting to see this show progress.  If you're up for it then definitely check it out.  You won't regret it.
