Chad Michaels: First Inductee Into the Drag Race Hall of Fame
Chad Michaels, Season 4 runner-up, was crowned the Queen of All Queens and is the first inductee into the Drag Race Hall of Fame after winning Season 1 of RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race. Teaming up with Shannel set Team Shad on a winning spree as they won challenge after challenge, but it was when they split up in the final episode that Chad was able to prove what she's got. As the world's premier Cher impersonator, Chad Michaels has had an illustrious career, but RuPaul bestowing this honor upon her was the satisfaction and validation she had been waiting her whole life for. Chad is a seasoned and professional Queen, and could not have been more perfect to take the crown.
As you all may know, I was rooting for Raven to take the crown because I feel she was robbed on Season 2 when she lost the crown to Tyra Sanchez. This was her time to get the recognition she so deserved, but it just wasn't meant to be. Rumors have been swirling that All Stars was created specifically so that Ru could give Chad the crown she lost on Season 4. Season 4 of Drag Race was the first in which the fans voted for the winner, and with Sharon winning by a landslide Ru had no choice but to crown Sharon as the winner. If this is true (and I hope it's not), then that would explain why Team Shad won constantly even though I always felt they were middle of the pack. It's a shame if this is the situation because it weakens the credibility of the show, and it once again snatches the true honor away from Raven who has worked hard and deserved that crown more than anyone. All that being said, Chad Michaels is incomparable and, even though I didn't agree with the decision, there's no denying she will carry on the Drag Race title and continue being the best in the game. Congrats, Mother Dust!
