'All Night' Music Video by Icona Pop
I cannot even begin to describe how much immense joy this music video gave to me. Icona Pop released 'All Night' over the summer, and now they are teaming up with Absolut Vodka for the release of their new flavor Absolut Tune. Aboslut is a company that has always worked closely with the gay community, being the major sponsor for the RuPaul's Dtrag Race tour that takes place every year, among other things. With that in mind, the video for 'All Night' echoes the legendary documentary Paris Is Burning which explores the ballroom scene of gay culture. If you haven't seen it, shame on you! And you have no excuse not to watch it because it is available on Netflix. In the video, Icona Pop are providing musical entertainment for the competition that is taking place at the ball which is something that brought together the gay subculture back in the '80s and '90s. The two groups face off in some epic voguing (which, if you didn't know, is something that was created long before Madonna wrote a song about it), and it's pretty fierce. There are drag queens, transgendered people and straight supporters galore in this awesome music video. I really commend Icona Pop for doing this, making the ballroom scene even more mainstream. This Is..Icona Pop will be released in just two weeks time!
