Jenny from the Block isn't letting us forget who she is, with her buzz track 'Girls' and now the new 'Same Girl' video which she has teased us with for a while. I'm actually in love with this track. I thought 'Girls' was very blah and it was more like Jennifer was searching for something that had long gone, but 'Same Girl' is signature J-Lo from the old days. It's cool, it's urban, and it fits her voice like a glove. I feel myself rocking out with her as she's speak-singing the lyrics, and the orchestral backing is especially beautiful during the catchy chorus. In the video Jennifer heads from her Manhattan apartment to the infamous 6 train and ends up in her home turf of the Bronx where she interacts with fans and shows us that Jenny from the Block never left. I'm feelin' this, and hopefully J-Lo can recapture her signature sound for her new album, not mock it.
