'A Sky Full of Stars' by Coldplay

Coldplay released mystery single 'Midnight' which was quite experimental, and then followed it up with the release of the first single off their upcoming album, 'Magic'. 'Magic' was a very intimate and subdued sound from the British band, but now they're back with something more uptempo.

Collaborating with the world's premiere beat-maker at the moment, Avicii, Coldplay have crafted a massive Top 40 jam that will surely get people to buy their record. 'A Sky Full of Stars' starts as a piano ballad much like many of their songs, but then the beat muffles as Chris Martin's voice enters and pervades the calm.

Then when it reaches the pre-chorus, Avicii's beat begins creeping up behind Martin's cooing vocals before taking off on its own accord and turning the song into a certifiable dance jam. Like Coldplay's most popular songs, 'Stars' has the signature anthemic feel-good sound that will translate well in a live performance. The band's new album Ghost Stories is due out May 19th.
