'Leave Your Lover' Music Video by Sam Smith

As if you didn't think it was possible for Sam Smith to break your heart even more, he's shattering it again. Sam's debut album In the Lonely Hour was just released this week in Europe and it will be followed by it's U.S. release on June 17th. Following the success of 'Stay With Me' and 'Money On My Mind', he's back with a new single.

'Leave Your Lover' is the third official offering from Smith's debut, and it's probably the most heartbreaking yet. While 'Stay With Me' had that gorgeous uplifting gospel choir at the end, 'Leave Your Lover' is all pain and longing. Smith croons "Just leaver your lover, leave him for me." He's pining after someone he can't have, but the music video gives us some clue as to who this mystery crush is.

The video sets up a love triangle from the onset. Sam is with a beautiful woman, but there's another guy who is very flirty and hands on. As the video progresses it appears that Sam and his girl aren't as happy as it might seem, and the other guy is taking up where Sam is failing. But the pivotal scene comes when Sam looks longingly into the window of a restaurant where the other man is on a date with another gentlemen.

Sam Smith has remained mum on his sexuality, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess that he is gay. While he may not be ready to put that in to words yet, this video is obviously his way of unveiling that secret in the most artistic of ways. It's a gorgeous video and a beautiful song, and I really could not love him any more.

In the Lonely Hour is set to be released in the U.S. on June 17th.
