'Them Girls Be Like' by Fifth Harmony

Surprisingly, Fifth Harmony won the "Artist to Watch" at last night's lackluster MTV Video Music Awards, but to drum up support for their upcoming album Reflection they've released another offering from the album. 'BO$$' was a smasher but this one's a bit softer.

'Them Girls Be Like' is a promotional single off their new album, and coming from the bass- and brass-heavy 'BO$$' I have to say this is a bit of a letdown. It's more of an album track for sure. Did they employ Alyssa Edwards to create the instrumental because that tongue-popping is fierce? Other than that and the Mean Girls and 'Flawless' references, I'm bored.

The girls' vocals are on point like always, but there's just no oomph and sex appeal to make the song a bop. I'm hoping they give us more 'BO$$'-like tracks on their album because they pulled it out of the bag with that one.

Fifth Harmony's debut studio album Reflection will be released on November 17th.
