'Sledgehammer' by Fifth Harmony
Fifth Harmony stunned this summer when they released their Michelle Obama ode 'BO$$' and promptly slayed our lives. Their something-more-urban offering seemed like a sure bet for them, but because of its lack of radio airplay it seems like the girls are going back to their pop roots.
'Sledgehammer' is the second official single from their upcoming debut, Reflection. The song is an instant hit, but it seems like all that needs to happen is to sing about a construction tool as an extended metaphor and you're set. The song is a smasher, with an '80s synth-pop vibe in the chorus.
The girls appropriately pronounce it as "slaygehammer" and with the infectious hooks, how could it not slay? I'm totally digging this. I could care less what direction the girls go in musically because between this and 'BO$$' they can't go wrong.
Fifth Harmony's debut album, Reflection, will be released in December.
