'Pretty Girls' Music Video by Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea
Like bees to the HON-AY! 'Pretty Girls' may have only been released a week and a half ago, but the song is already my contender for Song of the Summer. Britney Spears is slaying left and right, and as she's preparing for her big performance at the Billboard Music Awards this weekend, she's giving us the music video for this summer's hottest collab.
Co-directed by Iggy Azalea, the video is inspired by the 1980's cult classic Earth Girls Are Easy. Taking influence from pin-up girl Geena Davis, Britney plays a Valley girl who is out in her yard when Iggy, an alien, crash lands in Brit's pool. Brit gives her a makeover and the two are off.
Riding around town in a Jeep like the two pretty girls they are (obviously a reference to Clueless), they head to a car wash where Britney goes full out on her choreo, giving us the Urbaney we've been waiting years to see. Then you'll be bent over in hysterics as Brit talks in her best Valley girl accent during a dialogue seen that is so reminiscent of her Oops! days.
And at last our queens get up in da club where we get a DANCE BREAK and Britney slays all your faves. It's campy, it's cute, it's signature Brit. It looks like Iggy was a good influence because I haven't seen Britney this happy and into it in years.
