'No Sleeep' by Janet Jackson

It's been many years in the making, but Janet Jackson is finally back. Over the past few weeks the comeback has been creeping up on us, first with her #ConversationsInACafe hashtag, followed by her world tour announcement and then a snippet of 'Love'. This morning the long-awaited comeback single has finally dropped.

Produced by her longtime producers and friends Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, 'No Sleeep' sees Ms. Jackson reuniting with her love and not getting any sleep. It's all about having that sensual one-on-one time with the person you love most. "48 hours of love / It's gonna be a weekend marathon / So you better get ready my king / Cause I'm gonna be the Queen of Insomnia," she breathes.

The track isn't a banger by any standards, rather it sees Janet cooing seductively over the sexy R&B beat. While it's a strong slow-burning mid-tempo, I'm not sold on this being the lead single from her new album. This whole era has been a mystery so who knows what could happen.
