Jessie & The Toy Boys

Remember last week when I said I would bring you some of the upcoming female artists of 2011 each day of the week?  Well that didn't really work out so we're going to try it again.  The second artist on the list that I have come to love is Jessie & The Toy Boys.  Here's the official review from the article:

10. Jessie & The Toy Boys, 22
Sounds Like: Britney Spears via Stacy Q.
Album: Her EP Show Me Your Tan Lines dropped in June, and her full-length album This Is How Rumors Start is due later this year.
The Buzz: Jessie Malakouti of the one-woman band is currently opening for Nicki Minaj and her highness of pop Britney Spears on the Femme Fatale tour. Funny enough, her song “Trash Me” was allegedly ripped off by Brit’s songwriting team for her Circus track “If You Seek Amy”. The same song was recorded and released as a digital single by Heidi Montag.

Like the article states, Jessie was on tour with Britney for the Femme Fatale Tour, but she recently finished as the opening act a week ago.  What's nice about this is that I got to see her perform live, and I thought that she was quite good.  Her voice is very high-pitched, and Britney-esque in that it's light and breathy, but she's got great dance moves just like Britney.  For being a new act she is already a great performer and she would benefit a lot by props and greater production value.  She makes great pop/dance music that is just cheeky fun.  I've listened to her EP multiple times now and am anxiously awaiting her debut album.  I really hope that she takes off in the music world because it would be great to see more of her in the future.

This performance right here is by far my favorite from her tour set.  It's called 'Naughty':
