'Fame' by Lady GaGa

Lady GaGa is gearing up to release her new fragrance, aptly titled Fame. A few days ago the promo image was released (pictured above), and then today a special "Making Of" video was released. I'm not one to blog about perfume, but what GaGa is doing warrants attention and praise. GaGa has been slipping as one of my favorites as I think a majority of the Born This Way era was a bust, but this perfume campaign is the exact reason why I admire her so much and think that she is an innovative global phenomenon rather than just a singer. First, the promo image above is not just an ad: it's a piece of art. It's a naked GaGa covered in scantily clad men who cover her naughty areas, but they also give the picture a creepy look that goes great with GaGa's artistic portrayal. Nudity sells, but GaGa has taken the norm and flipped it. Secondly, the short video that was released today is another stroke of genius. The short film is filmed in black and white, narrated in french, and depicts the creation process of the world's first ever black eau de parfum. The video is simply genius, and thrusts GaGa into the stratosphere where nobody can compete. This is the GaGa I love, and hopefully she'll get back more on this path and less on the Born This Way path. The video states:
"From The Haus Laboratories in Paris, the first of its kind in fluid technology. The first ever black Eau de Parfum, black like the soul of fame but invisible once airborne. Made from Pulverized Apricot, Crushed Heart of Tiger Orchidea, and Tears of Belladonna. This is the formula of FAME."
