Mimi's Coming to Judge

Mariah Carey, the world's most talented singer, will officially be taking a chair at the judges table on the twelfth season of American Idol this Spring. With the recent loss of both Jennifer Lopez and Stephen Tyler (and it seems like Randy Jackson may only be a mentor rather than a judge) the show was at a loss. They needed some new blood, and someone to compete with Britney Spears who is a judge on The X Factor. Names have been thrown around for a while, but just this morning it was revealed that the diva herself would be joining the show. I think this has the potential to be very good. Mariah is probably one of the best people in the world to judge other people's voices, and judging by what I've seen of her she'll be more in Simon Cowell's league than Paula Abdul's when it comes to critiquing. She does have a reputation for being a diva though, so it'll be interesting to hear all the rumors of what will inevitably be happening behind the scenes. I'm very anxious to see who else will join the judging panel, but it seems as though former contestant Adam Lambert might be the most likely one to be announced next which I think would be a wise choice. This upcoming year's season of Idol will surely be something to witness, but it'll be nice to have some much-needed change. As long as they get rid of Randy I'll be happy.
