Just moments ago, Nicki Minaj premiered the music video for her new single off Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, 'Pound the Alarm'. The video was shot in Nicki's home of Trinidad, and is Nicki's own version of Carnivale. I basically feel the same way about this video that I felt about 'Starships': the video isn't bad, but it didn't wow me either. The video is a bright collage of color as Nicki and her posse are decked out in Carnivale swag, and they take to the streets to have fun. The video then culminates with a firework display as the Harajuku Barbie and her friends dance the night away. The best part, as always, were Nicki's crazy faces and the boob pumps she did with the beat right before the three minute mark. I love the song a lot more than the video as it is a sick dance/club song with a literally pounding beat. This is without a doubt going to be another huge hit for Nicki, but the video is just okay.
