Remember back in the day when it was Britney and Christina dominating every radio station and TV show? Remember when everyone used to laud Christina, and they would go around singing 'Genie In a Bottle'? Those were the good old days. Honestly, Christina hasn't done anything noteworthy in her career other than being a coach on The Voice since the Stripped era in 2003. She's just been a fading starlit, until now. Weeks ago when this song premiered I went crazy over it and I've listened to it over and over again since. Finally the music video has arrived, and it is safe to say that the old Xtina is back ya'll!! In the new music video for 'Your Body', we see a sexy and quite colorful Christina at her home in a retro time period. Christina changes outfits so quickly you almost can't even keep up. She has this youthful glow to here that I haven't seen in years, and nostalgia just erupted during the scene where she's in the bar with her hair in braids - it was like seeing the Xtina from ten years ago. Oh, and did I mention she goes around killing guys? Yes, one guy is killed with splattered blue paint, one is blown up with pink fire, and another explodes into confetti. Huh? Other than those weird killings, I have fallen in love with this video because I have the sense that her new album Lotus is going to mark a high point in her career, and hopefully Xtina will get back some of the credibility and respectability she has lost over the many years. And of course, Christina watching The Lucy Show starring the Queen of Comedy Lucille Ball at the end of the video made it even better.
