Sharon Needles, the winner of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 4 and reigning queen, is set to release her debut album PG-13 tomorrow, but before she does she has just released the music video for her first single 'This Club Is a Haunted House'. I wasn't really sure what to expect from Sharon's music, but after listening to the clips of the album on Amazon it's definitely going to be a club record, but with some more alternative sounds to remind us who Ms. Needles really is. The single is a great way to kick off her music career as it has a catchy hook that won't leave your head, and it's a fun club song that makes you get up and dance. The video is definitely one of the best that any Drag Race queen has released thus far. It begins with RuPaul's intro in which he declares that he's created a monster, and proclaims "you better burn, witch." The we see Sharon and a few of her friends heading to a club, where they are met by the bouncer who won't let them in because they're freaks. Sharon, being the freak queen she is, asserts her status and declares to all those trying to get in that "this club is a haunted house!" The song begins and the club has truly become a haunted house. We see Sharon in a myriad of outfits, showing off her eclectic style. She has her Amanda Lepore, glamour, and Lady GaGa looks. My favorite of hers is her signature style in the gif above. Absolute perfection! The video is one big dance party of people of every size and look, exemplifying Sharon's motto of letting your freak flag fly. And it all ends in a bloodbath (literally) that brings us full circle to her very first runway walk on Season 4. Sharon is one of the greatest people, entertainers, musicians, and advocates out there, and I'm so excited for the release of PG-13 tomorrow.
