'The Phoenix' Music Video by Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy are pulling out all the stops to ramp up their long-awaited return to the music scene. In preparation for the release of the album, the band will be releasing a video for each song on the album creating a 12-video long story which began with the video for 'My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light 'Em Up)'. The video for 'The Phoenix' was just released today, and it shows how the band ended up bound in the back of the truck in the 'Light 'Em Up' video which was released a few weeks ago. The band have a suitcase filled with something important and valuable, and so lead singer Patrick Stump handcuffs it to his wrist. He is then abducted, and a woman chops his hand off and sends it to Pete Wentz as a warning, but the woman Pete is sleeping with is undercover and abducts him as well. This is a great marketing ploy, and it already has me hooked. Can't wait to see the story unfold. As for the song, it's fantastic and I'm going to have it on replay. It's the traditional angst-ridden sound mixed with a grand orchestral backing which gives it the umph and urgency it delivers. I'm in love and I can't wait for the 'Save Rock and Roll' album to be released.
