One Direction are set to release their third studio album in a few weeks, and the new single from Midnight Memories has just been unveiled. 'Story of My Life' is a huge departure for the boys in their sound. This is a nice mid-tempo that really shows off their vocals, and it shows more artistry than they've ever done before. The sound is more of the Mumford & Sons/Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' that we have been hearing lately, but I think the lads turn it into something of their own. I would have never thought this would be the first single off their album, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. With this preceding it, I have a feeling Midnight Memories will be a highlight of their career.
