RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6: Snatch Game

Sadly we lost our Puerto Rican queen April Carrión last week, but the ten remaining girls are determined to carry on. Before the show goes any further, Laganja's breakdown and her distaste with the other girls during Untucked is brought up for drama. Bianca doesn't look like she's going to give in to Laganja. With that put behind them, the girls enter the Werk-room the next day and Laganja is back with a bright spirit. Yes, she does come off a bit annoying, but she's trying to amp herself up. The latest She-Mail arrives and Ru has one thing to say to the girls:

There's no mini challenge this week because everyone has to prepare for the greatest challenge in Drag Race herstory: Snatch Game! The queens are all excited and get to work getting their character illusions ready. At this stage in the legacy of the show, Snatch Game is the only recurring challenge and so the girls should come to the show prepared. What boggles my mind is how some people still think it's all about the look and not about embodying the character. Gia thinks she can just look like Selena and get through, but she has no material prepared.
Thank god this year's Snatch Game was an improvement over last year's snoozefest. The majority of the queens this season were very good and there were only a few weak ones. Going into the competition it looked like Bianca had the win in the bag with her Judge Judy, but in a surprising turn of events Ms. Creme blew everyone away with her Maggie Smith impression. I was cackling so much every time she spoke. Adore had Anna Nicole Smith well-prepared and made some great moments. Gia was easily the worst. She could have made Kim Kardashian a total bimbo but she simply played Gia.

Joslyn Fox
The main stage theme this week was "A Night of a Thousand Rus." The queens had to dress up as an iconic RuPaul look. Joslyn's look actually works really well for me. It's very Ru, but still has hints of her personal style. In the Snatch Game, her Theresa Giudice was friggin' hilarious and I was surprised how much I liked her this episode.

Gia Gunn
She got the dress right, but that wig looks nothing like Ru. But most importantly, Ru would never go anywhere with a wonky eyelash. I don't understand it, but every episode Gia has had a wonky eye. How hard is that to fix, gurl?? As for her Snatch Game, she was atrocious and deserves to be sent home.

Darienne Lake
Darienne chose Ru's Catwoman look from All Stars.  I don't really care for the fit of the dress on her as it's too simple, but it's decent. I was really expecting more from her in Snatch Game though since she's a comedy queen. As Paula Deen she did a decent job and had a few one-liners, but it didn't stand out.

Laganja Estranja
Oh Ganj Ganj. I don't think her runway was too bad. The hair was fine and the bodysuit was still futuristic even though it wasn't gold, but her Snatch Game could have been much better. Rachel Zoe had a lot of potential but it was annoying. I can tell that Laganja is constantly in her head, a problem Detox suffered from last season, not allowing her to reach her full potential.

Bianca Del Rio
For once, Bianca didn't have the best look on the runway. I think her Ru look was just too simple. It was good, but fell flat. Her Judge Judy impersonation, on the other hand, was perfection. In terms of the embodiment of the character, I think she did it the best. It was like Judy was actually there. But she had some tough competition this week.

Adore Delano
Adore's runway was Adore being Adore. Ru would never wear a dress like that and absolutely would never wear that wig which is signature Adore. The one saving grace was that she finally cinched her waist and she looked so much better. Her Anna Nicole Smith was perfect, and she interacted with Ru perfectly. However, like Michelle said, Anna is such a big part of who Adore is that it made it less impressive.

Trinity K. Bonet
Trinity was a major standout on the runway which ultimately saved her from lip syncing. Her Ru look was gorgeous, and that wig was almost perfect. Her Nicki Minaj though was so boring. She even attempted a wig change à la Chad Michaels but she had nothing to back her up comedy wise so it came off as cheap.

BenDeLaCreme
I was a fan of DeLa before the season started but wasn't sure how far she would make it. But I'm now thinking we could be seeing her in the finale. Her runway look was by far the best this week, and what she did that no one else did was embody Ru's spirit and stage presence. Like I said earlier, her Maggie Smith Downton Abbey performance was she-larious. She had so many retorts ready, and quipped each one of them. I was living for her. DeLa is a force to be reckoned with this season.

Courtney Act
Courtney's runway was gorgeous. It's like she stole Ru's outfit and threw it on. What I'm even more impressed with is the wig which is signature '90s RuPaul. Her performance as Fran Drescher was quite blah. I was expecting a lot more from Courtney.

Milk
As always, the one contestant everyone is still talking about is Milk. I really have no idea how much further she's going to go, but Milk is the buzzworthy contestant this season and is the one that is causing the most controversy. For the runway, she decided to do Werk-room boy drag Ru, a bold but daring choice. For her to do that after Alaska got read for doing boy drag last season takes massive balls, but I was living for it. No one has ever defied the boundaries of what Drag Race is like Milk is doing this season, and it saddens me to see people (ahem, Gia) hate on her because she's not fishy enough. Milk is a talented diva and continues to stun each week. As for her Snatch Game, picking Julia Child was a poor choice. She just wasn't funny at all.
It came as no surprise to anyone when DeLa was announced the winner of the challenge. The Bottom Two was a little trickier to pick, but ultimately it was squirrel friends Laganja and Gia who had to lip sync for their lives. Thankfully Laganja murdered the choreography and gets to stay another week while Gia was told to sashay away. And she leaves in just as much ignorance as she came into the competition with. #ByeFelicia
Untucked got emotional as Trinity made a very bold move and announced that she is HIV positive. She did it to become a role model and inspiration for others suffering from the same and it made me fall in love with her. As for Laganja, she got extremely emotional again, but this time I can't stick up for her. She was being delusional and trying to blame everything on everyone else, even throwing her friend Adore under the bus. She needs to get her act together and show those other bitches how talented she is. I'm hoping Gia's elimination is that swift kick in the butt she's been needing.
