Adam Levine may be the frontman of one of the biggest bands in the world who is currently dominating radio with the addictive single 'Maps', but he's also trying to break into acting. Levine's debut role was in American Horror Story: Asylum where he was mutilated all while looking damn sexy as always. Now he's making his original motion picture debut.

Levine stars in the film Begin Again where he plays a musician who finally makes it in the biz, alongside the gorgeous Keira Knightly and The Normal Heart star Mark Ruffalo. While not being a challenging role for him, he's putting his skills to use having just released his first solo single 'Lost Stars'. While Maroon 5 creates some beautiful music, I've never quite heard Levine like this before.

Written by Gregg Alexander, 'Lost Stars' is a simple folk rock tune that relies on Levine's crystal clear falsetto to give the song that magical quality. It's very different than anything he's released before, and I think this could be a strong contender when it comes time for Oscars season next year.
