'Break Free' Music Video by Wrathschild
Wrathschild have given us two flaw free singles already, the bombastic 'Fall Into Love' and the ethereal 'Angeles', and to tide us over until they release more original material, they're beginning a series of cover videos. What better way to start off their series than with my favorite song at the moment: Ariana Grande's 'Break Free'.
Taking away all the Zedd-production turns 'Break Free' into a completely different song, and Wrathschild members Simon Curtis and Ro "Wolfy" give it a darker spin. Simon opts to sing most of the song in a lovely falsetto which is beautiful, but it's Wolfy who really takes over the song. She belts it out, and this is the best she's sounded on any Wrathschild track so far. More of this please.
For the video, the duo enlisted the help of best friend and YouTube at-home workout phenom, Jordie Caskey. The video is dark and demented. If this had come out at Halloween time it would have been perfectly timed. Wrathschild seem to have a dark versus light theme going on here seen in the stark contrast in their clothes from beginning to end.
The highlight, though, is the shower scene. You get to see the bae, Simon, wet and yearning in the shower so what more could you ask for? If these cover videos are what we can expect until the next Wrathschild single is out, then I will be happily content.
Wrathschild have also lovingly put the song up for a free download which you can grab HERE.
