'Kanye' by The Chainsmokers featuring Siren

The Chainsmokers have blessed our ears with plenty of incredible remixes for the past year, giving us undeniable dance tunes that are ready to rule the dance floors. Their debut single '#Selfie' went viral and became one of the biggest smashes of the year. And now they're back with a brand new track hoping for the same success.

This time, though, they're giving us something a bit more mature and heartfelt than an ode to snapping a pic and filtering the hell out of it. 'Kanye' is a self-empowerment anthem meant to relate to all those 20 year olds out there. One half of the duo, Alex Pall, says that "It’s about just owning it no matter what you’re doing."

While I absolutely despise Kanye West and never want to be likened to him, I see where they're going with this and I think it works. Basically, own your shit. The song was actually crafted around Siren's vocals which are absolutely gorgeous and gives the song an ethereal quality. The Chainsmokers' beats are sublime as usual and I have no doubt that they've got another hit on their hands.

  1. I'm surprised none of the judges commented on BenDeLa's awful tights. That said, Darienne's lip synch was only a fraction better than BenDeLa's. Not enough to keep her in the competition.
