'Steal My Girl' by One Direction

One Direction announced their new album FOUR a few weeks ago and followed it with the release of buzz single 'Fireproof' which sees the band moving in a new mature direction. The boys are at the height of their success, but this album is going to show whether they can be true artists.

The lead single from the album 'Steal My Girl' leaked ahead of its release this morning. The song was co-written by Louis and Liam and sees them following in the steps of 'Fireproof' although this one's a bit peppier. The anthemic clap-along chorus is perfect and will make for a great moment in live performances.

However, my biggest issue with the song is that the piano melody is exactly the same as Journey's 'Faithfully'. And I take even bigger issue with the fact that none of the boys have acknowledged that. It's okay if it samples 'Faithfully' but not a word has been said, and these pre-teen girls who don't even know who Journey is will think these boys are brilliant for creating it.

I love the song and I'm highly anticipating the release of FOUR, but there needs to be some clarity on this issue very quickly. But they boys' vocals are gorgeous and that's what matters.

One Direction's fourth studio album FOUR will be released on November 17th.
