Upcoming Action Hero Movies (and Tolkien)

For the past few years now we have been bombarded with comic book hero movies, most of which have been pretty impressive to say the least.  Next year we will see the release of two more sure-to-be hits.  The Amazing Spiderman is going to be the reboot of the previous Spiderman trilogy, but the whole thing is starting over from that infamous spider bite.  I was really hoping that the movie could just simply pick-up where the others left off without having to redo the entire backstory AGAIN, but that is what they are doing here.  Other than that it looks like it should be pretty good.

The highly-anticipated third installment of the Batman: Dark Knight series is set to debut next year as well, and judging by the past films, I'm sure it will be another high octane film.  The Dark Knight was probably one of the best films we have seen in a long time.  That is definitely due to Heath Ledger's amazing Joker portrayal, but I'm sure this one will be just as great.

While a trailer has yet to be released from this one, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (aka The Hobbit: Part 1 just in case you did not know), is also hitting theaters in December of 2012.  I don't think I am going to be more excited for anything more than I will be for this.  It's sure to be incredible, and is also being filmed in 3D, just as Avatar was.  It looks as if next year will be another great year in terms of films!
