With the pop emergency that occurred Monday afternoon, Lady Gaga has been everywhere trying to make a good thing come from an unfortunate situation. Since the single leaked early, Gaga went into crisis mode and headed to Micky's Nightclub in West Hollywood Monday night to film the lyric video for 'Applause' before the official video premieres next Monday, the 19th. If you are familiar with Micky's, then you know that they are a drag bar where some of the hottest drag queens go to perform. Gaga called up the queens performing that night and told them to prepare, basically only giving them a few hours to get ready. Your favorite contestants from RuPaul's Drag Race make appearances in the video which is awesome because it's exciting watching drag become more mainstream. Season 3's Shangela and upcoming Season 6's Courtney Act took the stage to perform 'Applause' in front of Gaga herself, while others like Season 1's Shannel, Season 2's Morgan McMichaels and Raven, Season 4's Willam Belli and Season 5's Detox are featured from their performances that night. It's basically just a big gay musical to tide us over until next Monday!
