'Summertime Sadness' Music Video by Lana Del Rey

Capitalizing on the success of the Cedric Gervais Remix of her song 'Summertime Sadness', Lana Del Rey just released a music video for the original version of the song. If you haven't heard the original then you're in for a shock because it's completely different than what you hear on the radio. It's much slower, and a much darker song. The music video plays off that, and it's actually very macabre. I had no idea Lana was going to give me summertime sadness with this visual. In the video, Lana begins by falling off a cliff, committing suicide. The video then follows another woman who is visibly upset with whatever situation she is in. Ghost Lana (I assume) visits this girl multiple times, and the girl eventually throws herself off a bridge. It's a very depressing clip, and the way the video was filmed I think adds to it brilliantly. It looks sort of like a home video so it has that old school horror feel to it. I love everything Lana puts out, and this may just be one of my favorite videos of hers. A half hour mini-film, Tropico, is set to be released soon which is basically a giant music video for her songs 'Body Electric', 'Gods & Monsters' and 'Bel Air'.
