Katharine McPhee, arguably one of the most underrated American Idol contestants (I mean, who can forget her acapella 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'?), is finally making her big comeback. Her criminally underrated debut album spawned the seminal classic 'Open Toes', and although her second album didn't do much, McPhee's been focusing on her acting career over the past few years.

Ready to make her big comeback, McPhee is putting out a summer stomper that should give her some good press. Scooter Braun, the infamous Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande manager, is in charge of McPhee's new route which is the best thing that could happen right now.

'Lick My Lips' is a breezy '80s throwback groove that perfectly suits McPhee's voice. Tiptoeing the line between pop and R&B, the song channels old-school Mariah but with McPhee's own signature sound. It's a vibrant anthem and I'm positive it's going to be one of my favorite songs of the summer.
