Last night RuPaul crowned America's Next Drag Superstar during the Grand Finale of RuPaul's Drag Race. This season, 14 new queens competed for the crown in an acting-heavy season full of sickening looks and many gag-worthy moments. The queens battled it out and Ginger Minj, Pearl, and Violet Chachki made it to the very end.

Last night's Grand Finale started off a bit differently with each of the Top 3 lip syncing for lives one last time to original songs written just for them. It was an awesome addition, and the music was actually really well done. Each of the Top 3 were interviewed by Ru which included many emotional moments as videos from the contestant's families were played.
The remaining 11 queens reunited and talked about the season, with some special appearances by Patti LaBelle and a chicken. Most importanty, Katya was crowned Miss Congeniality. It was quite a night for Katya as Ru played into viewer's wishes to do a surprise twist and crown Katya the winner.

At long last the season concluded with Violet Chachki being crowned America's Next Drag Superstar. Violet was simply the standout this season, and there was no doubt she was going to take home the crown. I think she's going to be a great addition to the illustrious herstory of the show.
After her winning moment last night, Violet dropped the music video for her brand new single 'Bettie' off her upcoming EP Gagged. The song is reminiscent of Raja's 'Diamond Crowned Queen', but it's really the visual that has me bound and gagged. Violet knows how to stimulate the senses, and her S&M/bondage-filled video is scorching hot. It's going to be great to see what Violet delivers in the months to come.
