One Direction is a British boy band that was created through the X Factor UK.  The five members originally tried out as soloists, but they just couldn't quite make the cut.  Simon decided that they could be very good if they came together as a group, so they did and ended up to go on and finish in 3rd place.  I always enjoyed them, and their versions of the songs they performed.  They always kept it very contemporary and were very charming.  While they were never perfect, it is always refreshing to see a boy band since America is basically devoid of them.  The first single from their upcoming debut album is titled 'What Makes You Beautiful' and it is simply one of those songs that is just uplifting and self-reassuring.  It's actually very catchy and I am enjoying it quite a lot.  I was expecting more of the pop route for them, but this sounds very alternative, almost like Hot Chelle Rae.  Definitely worth checking out.
