The X Factor UK 2012: Top 11

The third week of live shows for The X Factor UK brought with it the theme Club Classics. This is always a fun week as we get to see the acts up their game and give us dazzling performances. The acts that usually just give us ballads step out of their comfort zone and either succeed or fail. Unfortunately, the acts just did okay. A few were spectacular, but a lot fell flat. Let's dive into it shall we?

Christopher Maloney
Why are people voting for him?! I can't stand him anymore. His performances each week are layers of cheese upon cheese, and he bores me to tears. I think what's really making me not like him anymore is his attitude. It's so obvious that he's a huge diva, and he comes across as arrogant. I just can't deal with his two-faced attitude anymore.

MK1
After the 'I Want You Back' debacle last week, MK1 return to their roots with this urban performance. I agree with the judges that the first half of the performance was perfect, but then the second half wasn't as good. I thought the Tinnie Tempah portion was better than the judges thought, but it still wasn't great. However, this performance was by far their best yet and I can see them having a huge future in the music industry.

Jahmene Douglas
For the first time I actually liked this performance from Jahmene. The song is one of the greatest songs of all time, and his rendition of it was a lot of fun. It was very entertaining and I felt like it showed off another side of him that had been missing. I personally don't want him to win, but if he can continue delivering performances like this one then he might change my mind.

Jade Ellis
Jade is one of my favorite contestants, but this week she was suffering from an illness thus weakening her vocals. The song was a great one for her and could have been spectacular, but she fumbled. The fact that her vocals were weak wasn't the issue; it was her confidence. If she had only strutted around on stage and worked it like a pop star she would have had one of the best performances of the night. But unfortunately she was lack luster and this could definitely put her in danger.

James Arthur
I have grown very tired of James over the weeks with his annoying screaming/growling that he does, but surprisingly he was very good this week. His rendition of 'Sexy and I Know It' was amazing, and he showed true artistry during this performance. For the first time during the live shows I'm excited for his performance.

Union J
I love Union J, but I just don't think this was a good song choice for them. It wasn't that this was a bad performance, it just wasn't anything to talk about. They were really middle pack for me. Their strength lies in their vocal harmonies, but this song eradicated any chance of that happening.

Rylan Clark
Rylan never ceases to wow me. While I didn't like him singing J.Lo's 'On the Floor', I thought 'Please Don't Stop the Music' was a great choice. The performance was once again so entertaining to watch, and I can see him gliding through this competition for weeks to come. I love him!

Lucy Spraggan
Yes, Lucy, yes! I absolutely LOVED this performance. She took on 'Titanium' which is an incredibly difficult song to sing, but she put her own acoustic twist on it and wrote some of her own lyrics. It was a really cool version of the song, and it showed how great of an artist Lucy is.

Kye Sones
Kye was a big contender going into this competition, but he has plateaued and I'm bored of him. He hasn't delivered any good performances in the past few weeks, and this one was just okay. I really did not agree with the judges that this was one of his best performances. It was lackluster once again, and far from epic.

Distrct 3
Worst. Performance. Yet. District 3 are a good boy band, but it's mighty obvious that Louis is spending all his time on Union J. Every week District 3 get crappy song choices, and then they get all this crazy choreography that cheapens their act and weakens their vocals. This was an atrocious performance, and if they want to stay they need to make Louis pay attention to them.

Ella Henderson
I love Ella. What else is there to say? I thought it was great that she really tried to go all out with this performance and even incorporate dance moves. Unlike Gary, I thought it was really fun and I enjoyed it. It was a great song choice and Ella knocked it out of the park once again.

This week was just so so in its performances. James, Rylan, Lucy and Ella were my favorites of the night. Based on the performances I would say that Jade and District 3 are in danger. As it turned out, Kye and MK1 were in the Bottom Two. Unfortunately, the vote went to Deadlock and MK1 were sent home. What?! How did this happen? I can't believe people didn't vote for MK1. I really thought they could make it far in the competition. Next week is the always entertaining Halloween show!
